Berlinale Talent Campus and Scientology in Berlin
February 16, 2007 on 4:14 pm by Thomas | In Berlin Scene, Movies, Stylewalker |
I wrote an article about Scientology on Potsdamer Platz for Hauptstadtblog which has been linked to from different sites and has some nice comments on.
On Berlinale, I visited the Talent Campus and saw the movies that have been produced within the last four days. An exciting and very succesful experiment: Directors, writers, actors, cinematographers, editors and so on organized the projects almost entirely over the internet, you can read their public discussions on the projects site. They come from all over the world, finally met at Berlinale and each team had only one day in the Garage studio to produce a short movie. Be sure to check out my favourite “Click-Clack-Clack” and read the whole story (in German) on the Berlinaleblog.

I read your German blog piece regarding Scientology and am sorry to hear you came away with a less than satisfactory experience. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the man asking about your photos, though - they’re understandably on the alert, due to anti-Scientology threats always being made. I encourage you to keep looking into Scientology and Dianetics, however: there are very good reasons why hundreds of thousands of people use its technology every day!

I am less concerned about that man than about the “one-truth” thing. and the technology in use on Potsdamer Platz did not really convince me, either..

It’s funny that they call it “technology”.
