An old industrial building with several rooms, the walls covered with handwritten paper and plans and rooms and talks, with small wooden chairs outside and a 3d printer which can repair its 3d printer brother and a supercreative crowd who didn’t care about business cards and seemed to be really interested in answers (not the kind of people that ask “so, what do you do?” and then look the other way).

And: Whenever talks mentioned the word “crisis”, they never meant the financial crisis but were talking about the climate crisis ahead and how to adress it with smart technology and will. Most of the sessions I found interesting, but I was surprisingly dissapointed by two internet legends who seemed not to care so much about inspiring people: Dave Winer who just let the audience talk and produced a lot of unstructred noise (nothing against open mic but without some outlines there will be nothing of substance) and Stowe Boyd who told us to use our rights on the net. Yeah, thanks.

But some stuff was truly amazing, there was a hellride through all sorts of geo location examples and tools by Andrew Turner, a very dark yet humorous speech by Bruce Sterling (”get the best bed you can get!”) and again, the Placebo of tech festivals, David Weinberger about Cyberutopianism. Not to mention Tor Nørretranders who showed us how literally sharing your shit makes things better.

Diese Woche streiken Schülerinnen, Schüler, Studenten für Verbesserungen des Bildungssystems. Die Demonstrierenden wenden sich gegen Studiengebühren, “Turbo-Abi” und vollgestopfte Bachelor-Studienpläne. Sie wenden sich gegen Bildungsprivatisierung, gegen Leistungs- und Konkurrenzdruck, gegen “Gesetze des Marktes” im Bereich der Bildung. Anders als in vorangegangenen Streiks haben es die Organisatoren dieses Mal geschafft, mehr als 150 000 auf die Straße zu bringen. Vor allem die Forderung, die Bachelor-Studienpläne zu überarbeiten ist immens wichtig.

Putpat is another musicvideosite which aims to make it simple and easy to watch music videos like back in the ol’ days on MTV. A simple, flash based interface lets you skip videos, change channels, and love or ban videos. Based on this bans or loves plus on a tool called Veequalizer users can build their own channels which will then deliver videos according to taste and mood.

Putpat has a lot of videos, also more independet artists and a nice preselection of channels. It’s a simple form of web-tv and competes directly with tape.tv and MTV music. I like, it’s a nice way of background entertainment while you do other stuff like hanging wet clothes, tyding and such.

Some background facts: Putpat was founded by ex Viva (German television, later bought by MTV) employees, the musicmagazine Intro also is involved. Putpat will try to finance its service with video ads in between the music videos. Due to the complexity of the license and legal situation, Putpat is right now only accesible for German users.

The position of the conservative politicians is that this is an important step to prevent child abuse content being seen on the internet. The opposing arguments not only by technical experts (read an article by Germany’s leading IT magazine c’t in German) but also by victims of child abuse (read an interview in German with child abuse victim Christian Bahls in German on Zeit Online) are myriad:

First: blocking DNS access to websites neither prevents children from being abused nor does it even delete the content from the servers, it simply puts a curtain in front of it. Experiments by e.g. CareChild (in German) show that all child abuse content that was found on servers in different countries could be deleted within a week by simply telling the hoster. Note the difference: von der Leyen wants to block access while it is possible to take it down completely.

Second: People who consume this kind of content do not find it on websites. They use peer to peer sharing or send CDs for they know it is far too dangerous for them to search on the www. Effective ways to prevent crimes would mean pursuing the criminals with more staff and equipment and trying stop it where it starts: in families.

Furthermore: giving one single institution the power to block websites for a whole country gives this institution very much power. Nobody is allowed to check the lists or even publish them, that would be a crime itself. The bill includes no way for people to get their sites off the list if they believe they got the by accident. Not to talk about the general smell of censorship structures being installed here which could fast also count for copyright protection and finally for any government critical content This last argument I do not understand as grave but rather as an extreme scenario. I think the German democracy and political system will prevent this law being signed in the first place and never will give this much power to one part of the executive system. Hopefully I am not too optimistic, nevertheless it is always important to think about where things could possibly end up in the future.

It is very difficult to discuss this subject. Critics of initiatives like this are accused to attack the fight against child abuse in general. Which is absolutely stupid considering all the possibilities to really do something about it.

Too bad it does not show the meaning of the symbols but it goes like this: the cat is for taming financial markets, the sun is for solar energy (althought that’s a little short, I believe we need a mix, which includes nuclear energy BUT with a clear stop in the future), the lock is for open borders, the flash for electric energy for cars, the book is for investments in education (instead of agriculture) and the syringe is for genetic agriculture (and I do not mean Monsanto! I believe public science must undertake a much bigger effort than today to find, also genetically driven, solutions to make agriculture more sustainable and productive.

Einige interessante Details über die Organisation und ihren Einsatz von Social Media und Online Tools erfuhr ich leider erst hinterher: So ist z.B. das beworbene Produkt eine Kooperation zwischen Gillette und Braun und u.a. durch die Innovationsoffensive von P&G, die auch von einem inzwischen recht bekannten Innovationsportal begleitet wird, entstanden (man vergleiche die Story mit den bedruckbaren Chips). Unterhaltsam waren auch Details aus der Rasier-Forschung: Jeder Mann denkt doch, alle rasierten sich gleich, aber weit gefehlt: Die Forschung registriert verschiedenste Druckstärken, Geschwindigkeiten, Frequenzen und sonstige Spektren von Verhaltensweisen.

Tatsächlich war es ein sehr netter Vormittag in der Sonne in einem schönen Innenhof in Kreuzberg, mit vielen Leuten (u.a. von Pleon und Zooom) die alle ihr bestes für den Spot gaben oder einfach nur zuschauten, so wie ich, Marcel von Amy Pink und Sandra von Gossipgirlz. Til Schweiger habe ich dann nicht mehr getroffen, ich hab ihm aber eine SMS geschickt um mich zu entschuldigen.

Die eigentliche Verantwortung Europas liegt nicht in einer europäischen Armee oder dem weiteren Beitritt von Ländern oder Euro-Staaten. Sie liegt auch nicht in Mindestlöhnen und Verpackungsgrößen. Die eigentliche Verantwortung Europas für die Welt liegt in der Wirtschafts, Energie- und Agrarpolitik.

Europa muss eine Menge tun und das schließt uns alle ein. Die europäische Politik muss ihre Ausgaben (und die sind nicht gering) darauf überprüfen, wem sie nützen. Die europäischen Konsumenten müssen kritischer werden und weniger verbrauchen. Ganz konkret sind Biodiesel, Exportsubventionen und unsere Konsumgewohnheiten sichere Methoden, um Millionen Menschen auf der Welt in Armut und Hunger zwingen.

Biodiesel - Tank statt Teller
Nachwachsende Biokraftsoffe galten noch vor kurzem als eine Alternative zu fossilen Brennstoffen. Inzwischen sind sie eine der Hauptverursacher für Hunger und Armut weltweit. Und ein globales Geschäft, für das die Politik Automobilhersteller und Agrarindustrie miteinander durch Subventionen und vorgeschriebene Beimischungsquoten fatal miteinander verknüpft hat.

Überall auf der Welt sind Plantagen entstanden, die den riesigen Markt mit pflanzlichen Ölen bedienen. Dafür werden Wälder gerodet, Bauern und Bewohner enteignet, Anbauflächen vernichtet. Palmöl wird zu Biodiesel raffiniert und exportiert, auf dem lokalen Markt steigen dazu die Preise für Fett.

Der weltgrößte Palmöl-Produzent ist laut der NDR Dokumentation “Die Biosprit-Lüge” (auf arte+7 ansehen) die indonesische Wilmar Holding. Ihr und der Sinar Mas Gruppe wird von Bauernverbänden Regenwaldrodung, Enteignung und Schmuggel vorgeworfen.

Biodiesel - Schöngefärbtes Verbraucherwissen
Inzwischen sind alle Neuwagen auf die Beimischung von gesetzlich geregelten Mengen Biodiesel hin entwickelt. Im ÖPNV wird mit Blick auf Biokraftstoffe investiert, z.B. Busse umgerüstet. Und Energieerzeuger nutzen Biokraftstoffe, um ihren Kunden Öko-Strom verkaufen können.

Unwissend finanzieren Stromkunden, Auto- und Kraftstoffkäufer (Abwrackprämie!) den Ressourcenschwund am anderen Ende der Welt. EU-Programme fördern die Forschung und Entwicklung von Biokraftstoff-Raffinerien, die besten der Welt kommen aus Deutschland. Das wissen auch indische Agrarkonzerne, die den Weltmarkt so mit den besten Kraftstoffen beliefern können. Und auch die indische und die indonesische Politik fördert die Entwicklung, obwohl ihre Bürger hungern und Bauern protestieren.

Schließlich wird bei der Raffinierung und dem Transport zusätzlich Energie verbraucht und CO2 ausgestoßen. Der Mythos des klimaneutralen Bio-Kraftstoffs ist damit auch dahin.

Der nächster Hit ist die Jatropha-Pflanze. Eine angebliche “non food crop”, die keine Konkurrenz sein soll zwischen “Tank und Teller”. Jatropha soll nicht dort angebaut werden wo sonst Nahrungsmittel wüchsen, mit 50 Mio $ Subvention fördert Indien Projekte in Rajastan, wo Jatropha-Plantagen auf Weideland entstehen (Weideland: also keine Nahrungsmittelanbauflächen) Der Effekt: Der giftige Busch und die Anbauflächen zerstören die Weiden der Milchbauern vor Ort. Es wächst kein Gras mehr und die Kühe verhungern. Die Bauern haben nichts mehr.

Die Jatrophapflanze ist auch nicht genügsam. Sie braucht viel Wasser und wächst mitnichten auf Brachland. Dazu kommt: Von der ganzen Pflanze können nur die Kerne der Früchte für die Dieselherstellung verwertet werden. Das heißt viel Fläche für wenig Öl. Jatropha-Pflanzen brauchen auch ein paar Jahre bis sie groß genug sind, um ertragreiche Früchte zu produzieren. Und um am weltweiten Biokraftstoffhandel mitzuverdienen, werden werden in der Zwischenzeit andere ölhaltige Pflanzen angebaut. So gibt es vor Ort weniger zu essen, so wie in Indonesien.

Ein neuer Vorschlag von deutschen Politiker wie Bärbel Höhn ist ein Ökosiegel für Palmölproduktion, der nachhaltigen Anbau prämiert und am Rande auch die Lebensbedingungen der Menschen, die ihre Umwelt verlieren, berücksichtigt. Doch ein Ökosiegel wird nicht viel daran ändern können. Das Problem ist die Biosprit-Lüge an sich.

Die Politiker verstehen die Problematik also nicht oder es ist ihnen egal, ganz zu schweigen von den Konsumenten. Es scheint, als verschlössen einfach alle die Augen. Die Hiobsbotschaft für uns in Europa ist nämlich, dass wir alle weniger verbrauchen müssen. Das gilt nicht nur für den Transport und Energie. Genauso fatal wie der Biodiesel-Wahnsinn ist die exportorientierte EU-Wirtschafts- und Agrarpolitik.

Exportsubventionen
Mit Fleischprodukten, die sich in Europa nicht verkaufen lassen, verdienen europäische Konzerne viel Geld in Afrika, der Nebeneffekt ist, dass lokale Märkte zerstört werden. Afrikanische Bauern und Verarbeitungsbetriebe können unmöglich mit industrieller Produktion, Marktmacht und EU-Geldern konkurrieren. Lokale Produzenten haben den Preisen für billiges Geflügel und Milch aus Europa nichts entgegen zu setzen. Der unverkäufliche Austoß, der bei der in Europa so beliebten Puten- und Hühnerbrust entsteht, wird tiefgekühlt nach Afrika transportiert und dort billig verkauft. Ähnlich ist es mit der Milchüberproduktion, die zu Milchpulver verarbeitet, die Preise für lokale Milchbauern, Kooperativen und Molkereien z.B. in Sambia ruiniert.

Das ist nicht nur ein Effekt der Globalisierung und der Liberalisierung der Märkte. Es ist sogar eine Strategie, die u.a. vom Bundesministerium für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Verbraucherschutz gefördert wird, siehe “Chancen auf globalen Märkten nutzen”, BMELV, Aktionsplan, Stand 2008, S.15. Europäische Agrarprodukte für das außereuropäische Ausland - das klingt gut, und deutsche Bauern, genau wie die neue Ministerin für Ernährung Landwirtschaft und Verbraucherschutz weisen jede Verantwortung und jeden Zusammenhang für die Effekte in Afrika von sich. Neben Korruption und Bürgerkrieg ist dies aber die dritte Plage für Afrika.

Die Abhängigkeit der Länder von westlichen Fördermitteln via IWF und Weltbank steigt durch die Finanzkrise weiter. Und die Kredite gibt es nicht umsonst. Einfuhrzölle, ein Mittel, mit denen sich die afrikanischen Länder vor der Europa-Waren-Schwemme schützen könnten, müssen im Gegenzug zur Kreditvergabe abgebaut werden. Die Finanzkrise als Auslöser für eine veränderte globale Wirtschaftsordnung? Das Gegenteil ist der Fall.

Organisationen wie Oxfam und Via Campesina arbeiten daran, das Bewusstsein der Europäer für diese Zusammenhänge zu schaffen. Gegen Bauernfunktionäre, Handelskonzerne, sowie Agrar- und Engergieindustrie, die an den den Milliarden der Agrarindustrie verdienen, sind sie machtlos. 10 Mrd EUR erhält z.B. Frankreich jährlich für seine Agrarindustrie. Die bezahlt unter anderem Lobbyisten damit das so bleibt.

So glaubt die EU-Kommissarin Mariann Fischer-Boel nicht, dass die exportorientierte EU-Politik lokale Märkte in Afrika bedroht und arbeitet der Milchindustrie (z.B. der deutschen Hochwald) in die Hände. Auch die neue Ministerin für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Verbraucherschutz, Ilse Aigner, ist ratlos, als ihr die Frage nach den Zusammenhängen zwischen globalem Handel und lokalen Märkten gestellt wird. Dies sei diese Woche kein Thema, sagt die sich einarbeitende Ministerin.

Angrillen steht für das erste Grillen der Saison eines Jahres, idealerweise findet es im Frühling statt. Man kann es als Nomen oder als Verb benutzen: Ich grille an, ich gehe zu einem Angrillen. Und genau da liegt die Krux, denn: Wer grillt an, wer geht hin?

Mehrfaches Angrillen pro Jahr ist ja per Definition ausgeschlossen. Man kann so zu einem Angrillen gehen, ohne selbst anzugrillen. Der Gastgeber organisiert zum ersten Mal ein Grillen, man selbst hat aber schon eines hinter sich. So ist man da, macht aber nicht mit. Wie oben angerissen, eine merkwürdige Bedeutung eines Wortes, das doch eigentlich im Kontext von Geselligkeit verwendet wird.

Und warum gibt es überhaupt ein Wort für etwas, das höchstens einmal im Jahr statt findet? Angrillen - angefreundet habe ich mich mit diesem Wort noch nicht.

Markus Söder, zurzeit Umweltminister in Bayern, will den Gesundheitsfonds, den er als Teil der CSU/CDU Regierung mitbeschlossen hat, nun wieder abschaffen. Damit stimmt er in das Wehgeschreih der Ärzte ein und schlägt zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe.

Zum einen kann er sich vor den Karren einer vielleicht nicht zahlreichen aber doch mächtigen Klientel spannen lassen, die ihm dafür eine Anti-SPD-Kampagne finanzieren. Und er kann, genau wie die Ärzte, so tun, als ginge es ihm um das Wohl der Patienten und nicht um die Brieftaschen der niedergelassenen Ärzte.

Aber nicht alle Ärzte setzen so leichtfertig ihre Reputation aufs Spiel wie die in den Spiegel- und Focus-Artikeln erwähnten Ärzte-Funktionäre. Manchen ist es peinlich, dass 10 000 brutto für einen niedergelassenen Arzt nicht reichen sollen. Manche wollen sich nicht von Orthopäden und Radiologen (Durchschnitt 16000 EUR) missbrauchen lassen. Manche finden es auch in Ordnung, dass es jetzt einen Finanzausgleich zwischen Ost und West gibt, so dass nicht alle Landärzte aus Ostdeutschland wegziehen. Klar, dass das Söder nicht gefällt. Solidarität zwischen den Bundesländern ist ja auch nur in Ordnung, wenn Bayern davon profitiert.

Satt dessen müssen sich die niedergelassenen Ärzte einige Fragen gefallen lassen: Warum müssen Ärzte, vor allem junge, im Krankenhaus unter so schlechten Bedingungen und so schlechter Bezahlung arbeiten? Ist es nicht so, dass für alle im System dieselbe Summe zur Verfügung steht? Wenn also Radiologen und Orthopäden statt 18 000 EUR 19000 EUR verdienen, sind das nicht 1000 EUR weniger, die eine Krankenschwester oder ein junger Stationsarzt hat? Und hätten die es nicht mehr verdient? Warum müssen die Streits immer auf dem Rücken der Patienten ausgetragen werden und warum macht man ihnen vor, dass es um ihr Wohl geht, wenn es doch schlicht um die Bezahlung der Ärzte geht?

Offensichtlich, wir drehen uns im Kreis. Viel interessanter als Deutschland von innen zu betrachten, ist es, Deutschland von außen zu betrachten. Dabei fallen mir all die interessanten Zuschreibungen ein, denen man im Ausland als Deutscher begegnet. So sagte der Argentinier: “Krass, immer wieder Katastrophen bei euch und immer wieder steht ihr auf”. Oder die Brasilianer: “Ich verstehe nicht, worüber ihr euch immer so die Köpfe zerbrecht. Euch gehts doch super!” Interessant auch die Reaktionen, als ich mich in Thailand nicht mehr als Deutscher (auf die unvermeidliche Frage “Where you’re from?!”) sondern als Schweizer vorstellte. Super angenehm! Denn über die Schweiz konnte man dort nicht so richtig viel sagen, außer dass es dort Berge gibt und es ziemlich kalt ist. Das war alles, keine Klischees mehr von Fußball und Formel1, “Guten Tag” und “Dankeschön” und so verliefen die folgenden Gespräche etwas interessierter und ergebnisoffener.

Nun machen sich hier in Deutschland wieder Menschen über ihr Land Gedanken. Diemal auf filmische Art:

Deutschland09, Deutschland auf der filmischen Couch - ein Film zur Lage der Nation, im Jahr der Jubiläen (die wir übrigens jedes Jahr haben, weil es hier ja so unfassbar viele identitätsstiftende Augenblicke gab) von 13 Regisseuren, die kurzfilmerisch ihre Sicht auf Deutschland zeigen. Sehr unterschiedliche Filme, von kurzweilig bis langatmig, von offensichtlich, bis etwas um die Ecke. Aber leider nur etwas um die Ecke.

Um den Film als Anstoß für eine breitere gesellschaftliche Diskussion zu verwenden, gibt es hier den Aufruf zu einer Blogparade. Hier kann man sich an der Deutschland-Reflektion beteiligen. Wie oben gesehen, ich habs probiert, aber irgendwie habe ich keine Lust mehr, immer wieder über Deutschland nachzudenken. Ich finde es reicht jetzt nach all Du bist Deutschland, Fußball WM und Deutschland Card. Ich bin lieber Schweizer. Im Ausland, dann muss ich mir keine Gedanken darüber machen, was es heißt, Deutscher zu sein.

First thought, naturally, is that an economy model based on money as the prime medium of an economic sphere will not create value by sharing. Luck, love or fun are things that grow when you share, money is not. If I share my Euro with you, I have less, of course, you have more, but it does not grow. But Certainly, there is only one way to gain money from sharing: If you provide an infrastructure for sharing which can be monetized. This is the second point - the microeconomic view from the point of a company or individual.

Most prominent example are ISPs (internet service providers). Napster, Gnutella or torrents were main drivers for growth in broadband internet contracts. Next prominent are sites like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter who “enable people to share” (Zuckerberg) - they also provide the infrastructure for sharing. Apart from the relationships and the people’s attention, here, it is not clear yet how to monetize the said infrastructure.

Still, there is a third way of regarding a share economy: A macroeconomic view that takes effects for the whole economy into account that are based on sharing. Maybe this is the most powerful effect, sharing can have on an economy, even if you only take the moneysphere into account. For economic growth, a society needs innovation. Innovation needs ideas and ideas never develop independently but are always a mashup of the existing in a new way. The more people share thoughts ideas, the more likely is the emergence of innovation.

So, to sum things up: Yes, there can be a share economy. Most likely if you do not measure in money but in other terms, like fun or joy. In the traditional, micro-economic way, most likely if you, as an organization provide an infrastructure for sharing. And third, on a macroeconomic level, for a society because sharing enables innovation and thus economic growth.

Although some call this phenomenon a “black swan“, something totally surprising this is no explanation to me. For everybody involved in this game, all of these investment wizzards, who came up with these supercomplex derivates, at some point at least, they MUST have seen a small glimpse of the risk they are putting us all in. The vicious cirlce which was going on here. Insurance companies betting on their great ratings should have been NOT aware of what would happen if they lose this reputation, that they put their whole business and thus the business they are constantly insuring to a fatal risk?! No way. In this case they must have been smart AND stupid at the same time.

So what’s the learning from all this? We must know more. We must learn. All of us must try to understand what was going on here and be able to talk eye to eye to politicians, to journalists, to bankers. There is a program on American Public Broadcasting System (PBS) which seems to bring a great deal of learning: Frontline - Inside the Meltdown. A very well done site and a very insightful documentary about the crisis. Interviews and original clips put together to understand the dramaturgy of the crisis: Bear Stearns, Fanny Mae, Freddie Mac..

Another not really great but funny mix is DJ RevoLucian’s remix of the Christian Bale incident which was uploaded feb 2nd and heard 1,3 mio times since then (wow, again)

The authors try to raise public interest and awareness for the dangers of surveillance and data collection and the importance of privacy, not only by the police and other executive institutions but foremost by private companies. In Germany, many examples of private data and surveillance abuse have been published in German media recently: customer data by Deutsche Telekom (or T-Com) was sold, Telekom, Lufthansa and Post top managers have been surveilling employees and customers, German retailer Lidl hired private investigators to spy on their employees. These are only a few examples to stress the importance of the said issues.

On saturday, January 31st, Beckedahl published the summary of a conversation between the Berlin data protection officer and Deutsche Bahn top executives reporting about the methods of Network Deutschland, the company hired to spy on employees and customers. This memo was written by the data protection office and anonymously sent to Netzpolitik. The memo is actually pretty boring, Spiegel has way more exciting facts and talks about more than 170 000 people who have been spied on by Deutsche Bahn.

What makes this case exciting is that Deutsche Bahn tries to legally threaten Netzpolitik for making this memo public. A memo which has been cited many times by other media already. Funny enough, the reactions in the blogosphere and by other media in only one day make this memo famous.

And not only bloggers, but basically all citizens, politicians, architects, police men, journalists hope that Bahn CEO Hartmut Mehdorn now will have to go for good. If not for the blogger threat than at least for the spying scandal.

Veranstaltungen wie die Fashion Week inklusive der Messe Premium und die jüngst nach Berlin zurückgekehrte Bread&Butter (die dies gemeinerweise direkt zum Start der Fashion Week erklärte, wie ein eifersüchtiges Model, das dem anderen die Show stehlen möchte) werfen dabei immer wieder internationale Schlaglichter auf die Szene. Sie vereinen Kreativität und Geschäft, die großen Namen wie Boss, Joop und Michalsky sonnen sich im Lichte der umtriebigen Berliner Szene und einigen kleinen Berliner Labels gelingt es, Distributionsdeals abzuschließen, um ihre Werke auch außerhalb Berlins vertreiben zu können.

Und auch wenn man auf keiner Veranstaltung war kann man im Internet eine schöne Bandbreite an Berichten von der Fashionweek finden, inklusive der so wichtigen Bilder und Videos. Hier eine kleine Auswahl:

Los gings am Mittwoch abend mit der Boss Show im Tropenhaus des Botanischen Gartens. Am Donnerstag mittag gab es dann die Show von La La Berlin, von der Mister Spex ein paar Brillenbilder gemacht hat. Fotos von der Show gibt es natürlich auch und zwar bei Lea Loves. Abends die laut Bild “skandalöse” Kaviar Gauche Show mit viel Haut, hautfarbenen Strumpfhosen, Fransen und natürlich Taschen.

Freitag abend haben es die Modebloggerinnen von Les Mads dann trotz Blogger-Aversität der Michalsky Pressechefin doch auf die exklusive Michalsky-Show geschafft und am Samstag war dann die bereits eingangs erwähnte Show von Bernhard Wilhelm im Postbahnhof, auf der die ausschließlich männlichen Models in Skianzügen zwischen Theaterlandschaften herumstehen und Faxen machen mussten. Ein durchaus heiterer Abschluss der Fashionweek mit Mode, die sich ausnahmsweise mal nicht so ernst nimmt.

After three days of intense blogging, live blogging(!), there should be a little resumée. Must be a personal one, naturally, although I aim to grasp some of that spirit hopefully many people sensed in these days of Digital, Life, Design 09.

In the position of being confronted with so many ideas, witted people, diverse subjects, opinions, trends and conversations I felt intectually challenged almost all the time. Plus, trying to find my own “art of live blogging” I was in a constant state of concentration, in search of the essence of the panels I focused on to cover. Now I feel tired and inspired, with the “Black swan” beside my bed and “What would Google do” on my desk. And with many images still in mind that make it hard just to say “DLD was awesome!”. But it certainly was.

We had economics, design, psychology, neurobiology, architecture, technology, education, fashion, music.. DLD was so diverse and at the same time deep in concern of the arguments of the people and mostly entertaining by the performance. And this inspirationally broad deepness certainly had effects on the talks in the hallway which I personal did not have. Because I had to blog. Because I was honoured to blog!

My thanks go to the whole team, all those fast and motivated people who made this conference so smooth, so you would not notice the organization, just the flow. And especially to my blogger colleagues Nicole, Oliver and Andrea. We came up with some nice techniques to cover people’s talk with live writing which include Google Docs, hand signs, twitter search, mobile photo uploads and the help of people who plug the laptops, know about details, give comments.
So thank you all, team, speakers, participants and especially to the cute coffee machine in the team room.
