P3000 Blogpost Widget from Sproutbuilder
November 5, 2008 on 4:33 pm by Thomas | In Campaigns, Design, Publicity / Marketing, Tools, Webfindings, Widgets | Say something!Greenhouse.sproutbuilder.com is an absolute blast. It’s a flash based widget builder which works entirely in your browser window and has a lot of editing features. Build sites with text, video, pictures, slideshows, maps, charts or insert RSS. Define size, fonts, colors, background, effects. Here are the most recent updates from the PANORAMA3000 blog in a widget, it took me 20 minutes to make it nice.
Wordle – Beautiful word clouds
September 11, 2008 on 8:59 am by Thomas | In Politics, Tools | Say something!
“Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like..”
I discovered Wordle in a Twitter-tweet by Steve Rubel where he compared Obama’s and McCain’s acceptance speeches with the help of this text analysis tool. It’s very open to interpretation indeed but somehow pretty and illustrative.
I compared two speeches of Müntefering and Merkel, the one Müntefering held at the Parteitag in Hamburg and one Merkel held to celebrate the Soziale Marktwirtschaft. They were surprisingly similar. A very interesting fact is that both use the word “müssen” a lot. Maybe German politicians should think about putting their messages into sentences with more “können”.
You can see Müntefering’s speech on the left side (obviously, Merkel wouldn’t say “Genossen”) and Merkel’s on the right side.
Iphone wordpress app test
September 2, 2008 on 9:01 pm by Thomas | In How to, Tools | Say something!
Just a test of the iPhone wordpress app – still iphone word recommendation is really a pain but that’s not the (the=thw- wtf?!) fault of the app..
Took a picture but I guess it means work to adjust it nicely to the design. We’ll see..
Next task: Disable this autocorrect thing.
Sony hall on IFA by HolgerEI went to IFA last week and apart from the vacuum cleaning robot (cute!), the 3DTV screens by LG and Samsung (no link found) and the vast Sony hall, I especially liked the science part of the trade fair. I talked to two scientists from DFKI Saarbrücken and tried the Wii fit board they hacked to surf Google Earth. Fun! In general, I think it’s a big chance for IFA to strengthen this part to be ever more successful in the future. Here, Matthieu and Simon demonstrate their invention:

Melt! – here we go again
June 21, 2008 on 7:34 pm by Thomas | In going out, Melt!, Music, Publicity / Marketing, Tools, Widgets | Say something! There’s less than a month to wait for Melt! festival taking off again. I’m looking forward to working there again, you can read about my experiences at this beautiful and excessive festival in several articles on stylewalker.net!
I don’t know which artists I am going to take care of this time, I’ll post it as soon as I know. But everything about the line up, maps, tickets, pics and videos you can find in the Melt! (blog me) SITE below. Repost it at your blog (just click “blog me”), Myspace or Facebook and take the chance to win tickets!
The Melt! (blog me) SITE is a product by PANORAMA3000 for Melt!
Just checked on a comment and found this: A facade printer. Crazy.

So, it’s not all gold that’s iPhone and with all the hysteria about this product, many flaws should not be forgotten.- So here is my ultimate list of what’s missing or not good or what actually sucks on the iPhone, even after hacking or unbreaking or simunlocking it with Ziphone. If I should be mistaken or just too stupid to find it, please correct me in the comments.
Downloading files – apparently there is an application for it but so far I can’t make it work.
Why is there no obvious file management?
There’s no flash in Safari browser
The camera can’t record video and until now there’s no application which does it good enough (e.g. with sound)
The camera is not very good for fotos either.
You can’t send calender items
You can’t subscribe to podcasts
You cannot pick a song from your library as ringtone!!
No radio, no dvbt
3,5 mm line-in for headphones only works with the slim apple one. Normal hi-fi line in will be too thick too fit into the slot.
No copy-paste!!
No counting of letters while writing sms, no draft saving for sms, cannot edit sent sms and resend them
No gps, no umts (3g)
Autocompletion of words is far away from T9 level
Where’s the DJ application (pitch and mix..)?!
Snake Reloaded
April 8, 2008 on 6:46 pm by Thomas | In Campaigns, Publicity / Marketing, Tools | Say something!
Wow, I was mad for that game, I even dreamt about the snakes! It was also the first program where I took a look at the code (in MS Basic)
Volkswagen NL has relaunched Snake as a flash game. You move the car with the arrows, for every balloon collected you get a fan more and the snake grows. There’s also happing with the price and you have some apparently funny comments. Sometimes a band appears or some bboys turn up to dance. Very nicely done indeed.
Watch selected re:publica panels on Hobnox
April 4, 2008 on 9:29 pm by Thomas | In Berlin Scene, Tools | Say something!
Yes the guys made it! It must have been an effort and I am really impressed. Despite still being at beta state, Hobnox offers selected panels from the just finished Re:publica 08 to watch in impressive quality and discuss the outcomes.
Supertool: Drop.io.
Wer will, kann mir z.B. Musik reinschmeißen oder Bilder von der letzten Party. Yay!

Conversational Design Patterns
March 5, 2008 on 12:52 pm by Thomas | In Design, Tools | Say something!Very nice presentation by Kosmar about “Conversational design patterns”. Many screens and pictures about how to foster different interaction patterns on the web from login to comment to ratings. No revolution but a good collection and categorization.

Uniqlock: Japan’s stylishest and viralest screensaver
February 26, 2008 on 8:37 pm by Thomas | In Campaigns, Design, Tools | Say something!I’m loving this screensaver and its blog widgets! According to Netxtweb, it’s one of Japan’s most successful online campaigns ever. And the music’s really OK, you can turn it on, if you like.
When downloaded, it automatically adopts to your time zone, so the whole thing is really simple (video plus displayed time), together with the blog widgets it spreads around the blogosphere and in the end is an advertising tool for Uniqlo, Japan. What they do? Cashmere pullovers.
