Eigentlich habe ich nur das Video posten wollen und bin dann erst richtig in die Comfort Fit Welt eingestiegen. Der Typ ist der Hammer! Erst einmal habe ich mich daran erinnert dass ich schon früher seine Tracks mochte, die auf Tokio Dawn Records rauskommen, m.E. einem der wenigen wirklich guten Netlabels. Damals, vor vier oder fünf Jahren ist mir das durch den De:Bug Podcast reingelaufen. Und jetzt dieses Video und ein tolles neues Album. Und eigentlich habe ich den Artikel für das Urban Blog von Beck’s geschrieben, aber er passt eigentlich noch besser auf Stylewalker . Also: Enjoy!

Es gibt ihn noch, den guten Hip Hop a la Pharcyde oder A Tribe Called Quest. K-OS kommt aus Kanada und hat dort schon ordentlichen Erfolg. Der Stil ist orchestral, variabel, fluffig. Vielleicht so wie man sich den Weg der Black Eyed Peas gewünscht hätte.

I am getting myself together to recover from Melt and collect some thoughts about that amazing festival again, in the meantime, here are two nice hiphop widgets: Unionstreet and Asher Roth.
(I work for P3000 and helped to build Union Street, we also did the Asher Roth widget). Unionstreet is a news platform with lots of community features about urban music and lifestyle, with hardworking editors and daily news about the big bling and the little bang. Asher Roth sounds like a mix of Eminem and Money Mark, easy, funny, funky, singalong music.

Auf myspace.com/urbanstreetteam gibt es eine nette Competition: Freund werden, Foto in das eigene MySpace-Profil hochladen, mit dem Urban Streetteam Profil verlinken und dann Kommentare auf dem Foto sammeln. Dazu kriegt jeder noch ein stylishes Widget zum eigenes-Bild-promoten.

Das Foto mit den meisten Kommentaren gewinnt – ein Trip im Bus inkl 5 weitere Freunde zum Konzert nach Oberhausen.

Es steht ein Haus in Neuruppin und es sieht ziemlich düster aus. Dreckiges Linoleum, Hängelampe und den elektrischen Bratenschneider auf dem Tisch. Drin sitzen K.I.Z und rappen über Mordfantasien. Man kann das Haus mit Mouseclicks durchlaufen und Schrecklichkeiten entdecken.

Produziert wurde dieses interaktive Musikvideo von der Webproduktionsschmiede Kubikfoto, die noch einige andere tolle Projekte im Netz haben, die sich mit klickbaren Foto- Videowelten beschäftigen – oft mit einem schön morbiden Touch.

Liked the fluffy conscious Coolzey stuff here? There is a new E.P., one of three Coolzey puts out for free on the net this month, it’s called Soixante-Neuf which is, if I am not mistaken, French for Sixty-Nine.

“I realized that these three EP’s are sort of a trilogy of the three stages of life: youth, middle age, and death. Soixante Neuf is the darkest because in my mind, middle age is the darkest part of one’s life.”

Right now, Coolzey is on tour in the U.S., last stop is, chapeau, the Knitting factory in NYC.

Ein Weißbrot tritt an, um das Erbe von J Dilla und Jeru the Damaja fortzuführen, und ein bisschen nach Mobb Deep klingt der Gute auch. (Selbst-)bewusste Texte, smarter Flow über fluffigen Beats, die an DJ Premier, Pete Rock oder die Beatnuts erinnern: “Early 90s east coast head nod meets late 80s old school hip hop made by schizophrenic Iowan possessed by gremlins” beschreibt sich der Mann aus Iowa (das Internet spült einfach alles an die Oberfläche).
