Veranstaltungen wie die Fashion Week inklusive der Messe Premium und die jüngst nach Berlin zurückgekehrte Bread&Butter (die dies gemeinerweise direkt zum Start der Fashion Week erklärte, wie ein eifersüchtiges Model, das dem anderen die Show stehlen möchte) werfen dabei immer wieder internationale Schlaglichter auf die Szene. Sie vereinen Kreativität und Geschäft, die großen Namen wie Boss, Joop und Michalsky sonnen sich im Lichte der umtriebigen Berliner Szene und einigen kleinen Berliner Labels gelingt es, Distributionsdeals abzuschließen, um ihre Werke auch außerhalb Berlins vertreiben zu können.

Und auch wenn man auf keiner Veranstaltung war kann man im Internet eine schöne Bandbreite an Berichten von der Fashionweek finden, inklusive der so wichtigen Bilder und Videos. Hier eine kleine Auswahl:

Los gings am Mittwoch abend mit der Boss Show im Tropenhaus des Botanischen Gartens. Am Donnerstag mittag gab es dann die Show von La La Berlin, von der Mister Spex ein paar Brillenbilder gemacht hat. Fotos von der Show gibt es natürlich auch und zwar bei Lea Loves. Abends die laut Bild “skandalöse” Kaviar Gauche Show mit viel Haut, hautfarbenen Strumpfhosen, Fransen und natürlich Taschen.

Freitag abend haben es die Modebloggerinnen von Les Mads dann trotz Blogger-Aversität der Michalsky Pressechefin doch auf die exklusive Michalsky-Show geschafft und am Samstag war dann die bereits eingangs erwähnte Show von Bernhard Wilhelm im Postbahnhof, auf der die ausschließlich männlichen Models in Skianzügen zwischen Theaterlandschaften herumstehen und Faxen machen mussten. Ein durchaus heiterer Abschluss der Fashionweek mit Mode, die sich ausnahmsweise mal nicht so ernst nimmt.

Der Artikel ist so auch im Hauptstadtblog erschienen.

So, every bogus spammer site, content thief, copyright infringer, porn recycler, link-to-funnny-videos blog and what do I know gets to implement Adsense? Well, their fault. Not that I had wanted to have stupid and irrelevant textads on my site anyway.

• 1st: Integrate tags into stylewalker – I have enough content now to tag it more thoroughly and it would be cool to let people participate – suggest tags and if I like them they will be part of the categorization. Does anyone know a good WP-plugin?

• Start a blog about organizational identity and weblogs. I am writing my master thesis and should export some wisdom to the net.

• Buy a DJ! A friend is coming from Barcelona, Marco Delvai, you can book him for little money and big fun! Expect more information later.

• A guide to MySpace – people keep asking me what to do there and I should write down all the things I tell each one of them.

I even got recruited to wite about music for another blog which is musik.germanblogs.de.

The by far most popular story here was “babba sven” and his dance with Richie Hawtin. 80 000 people watched the video and 50 (on this page and youtube) commented.

Also very popular is the cobra snake, Stylewalker the DJ, Suzi Wong, Steve Bug, the soccer game, Guido Argentini and .. filmmarketing. I get many hits on my Hausarbeit: “Das Internet als Filmmarketing-Tool”. Content is king.

Meanwhile, we might want to go back to a specific page we have been to before. Maybe we forgot to open a link there or it adds some important piece of information we misjugded before. And so. Wouldn’t it be easier to find that page again if the described clickways were represented in the browser?

The graphical user interface of a browser should show the visited pages and the ways we went on a graphical landscape. I don’t know how to do it exactly, but it would have something to do with levels and everytime a new tab or window is opened the clickways would start again with level 1. Like this we would know which way we have come and the design would represent much more what goes on in our head. Network-like, woven information, three-dimensional, like brain cells, not linear.

This is an invitaion to developers, screen-designers and c+-coders. If you have any further idea, let me know! If something like this exists allready, like a plugin for Firefox, let me know as well, please.

April 13th we will see a very special party: Many friends are going to perform at Party Arty in Lovelite: Yaneq, Suzie Wong, Shir Khan. And my lovely Spanish girl is going to be there, to flirt with Al Haca. We are definetely going to talk about that!

And then, of course, there’s science.. I am starting to dig deep into theories on Organizational Identity and weblogs and sometimes may be posting something about that here – if only to do justice to my claim: Music, Lifestyle, Science..

But here is something: I met a designer who studied in Utrecht and Cologne, he is really good, has a lot of skills, spontaneously we made ourselves business cards to step up into the professional circle of Barcelona’s freelancers and spontaneously I made him a webpage: www.christiandegen.de is a simple, fast and easy onlineportfolio, I hope it will be of use for him.

I liked especially her finding of the project “Folk Songs for the Five Points” which “uses “folk songs” as a metaphor to explore immigration and the formation of identity in New York’s Lower East Side.”

Good selections, good writing, always some interesting ideas. Mr Moving Canvas was featured there, too!

Sie machen viel mit Kunst, Kultur und Design und immer wieder gibt es schöne Ausstellungen im Cc:Room, ihrer Galerie. So haben sie auch ihr Blog genannt, das in Zukunft als Präsentationsplattform für Projekte und Ausstellungen dienen soll und die Webseite Circleculture.com komplettiert. Lange hat es gedauert, aber nun genügt es den hohen Ansprüchen der Geschäftsführer.

Inzwischen sind sie eine feste Größe im Berliner Lifestyle, in die Clubs kommen sie umsonst, weil sie einfach jeden kennen. Wer in Berlin-Mitte Fuß fassen will und schnell Zugang zur kreativen Szene sucht, kommt an ihnen nicht vorbei, Schlagworte wie “Below-the-line-Maßnahmen” und “Spitze Zielgruppen” füllen sie mit Leben.
Ich habe ihnen ein kleines Wordpress-Blog angepasst, war stressig (die Jungs wollen eben viel und das schnell und günstig) aber hat Spaß gemacht, jetzt müssen sie nur noch anfangen zu bloggen. Viel Spaß und Erfolg, Johann, Staudi, Nici, Julia und alle anderen!

But Bootylicious is different. There are drag queens who feel like divas and they love Ashanti, Beyoncé, Missy and Ciara just for that. For the rest, all the hip hop posing and butt shaking is pretty sexy and gays love to be sexy (well, don’t we all..). Finally, there are a lot of girls who just love the music but not the style straight gangsta-guys hit on them in the regular R’n’B clubs.

So I played there for half a year and it was always great fun until I left Berlin and still, the party is a success. The other day we passed by there by coincidence and decided to enter. It was great again, especially Montse was succesful, some lesbian girl hit on her and all the guys just loved her hair and her way to dance! They screamed “You are a little princess!”
Advantage for me: this time I could be a little less jealous..

Mike Stone is the man for the early hours (6-10 AM) at GMT and other Freunde Berlins-events.

The party also features free entrance, good drinks and a fascinating location in the centre of Friedrichshain where this little farmer’s house is in the middle of nowhere. No neighbours, only abandoned industry buildings and the massive communist plattenbauten at the horizon. We are going to have a terrace, a camp fire, light installations, an open air bar and of course you: Nice people!

The owner used to do parties there, the Barfuß guys had parties there, it was called the “Tuppa-club” or even “Reiterhof in Lichtenberg” and it has a lot of fame because the people who run the Maria am Ufer now met there, for instance. One year they did an after-hour every sunday and even a year later the people came knocking asking if this was a place to hang out.

Social Software, Corporate Weblogs, Corporate Communications, Agenda Setting, Opinion leaders, podcasts, media-for-the-masses, bloggings vs journalism and so on are the buzzwords.

All the science basically is by Dr. Zerfaß, case studies and the business part by Mr Boelter and my part was mainly to surf the web and find interesting stories and to write them down neatly. A lot of work but at last a lot of fun, too. You should read (if you read German) it is really interesting.

Somebody told us some guys would have a party there, that is was not official and ergo very illegal. The police in Berlin is pretty liberal so you can take the risk, still, we where like 100% sure that this party would be busted by the police by one o’clock, latest.

Around three o’clock there were like 150 people dancing like crazy in this superunderground place you could reach and leave only by escalators. A massive soundsystem, a bar, pumping tech-house – a perfect night.

Anyone who likes is invited to contribute, so please leave me a comment if you want to write. It is in German and of course it is about German politics in these campaign days. It is an experiment as well because I have very clear political opinions but by writing I would like to find out if they are consistent. I would like to say I am realistic but that is only true if you know the whole truth which you will never. So, the more you know, the more difficulut it is to make the right distinctions.

So, let’s blog and find out. Watch me on my way. I am a politcal blogger, too now.

Chancellor Schröder decided a week ago that after 9 major defeats of its social democratic party (SPD) in regional parliaments (which are important – we are a republic) it would be impossible to go on since his party and his politics “no more have the trust of the people”. I am working for the online consultancy Face2Net. One of their clients is the SPD, so I am going to be involved with the campaign. September 18th is the estimated election day. This is going to be tough, but exciting. And it starts now.

I think: The social democrats are much more likeable than their stiff conservative counterparts. But to communicate that they are better steersmen for our country is going to be a very difficult task. Most important to me is: People need to know that there is a major threat on the horizon: The black republic. To be governed by a conservative party who has a majority in all legislative chambers for several years means a lot of uncontrolled power, they could even change the constitution.

We will do our best to prevent this black and streamlined republic.

Me and 20 other students were brought to “Tropical island”, an artificial jungle, swimming pool or tourist attraction built in a huge hangar once used to build large air ships for transportation. Unfortunately, the company ran bankrupt before any ship could be manufactured..

Now there´s palm trees and beaches and lots of shops and restaurants and shows but overall it is a very sad place. It is in the middle of nowhere and the industrial past is obvious in every centimeter. Everything looks really artificial, fake wood, concrete floors and few plants. It seems that more people work there – very nice and courteous people – than tourists come to visit.

Everything is really loud and not at all relaxing because the big cupula is like an amplifier and every little sound is like boosted in this huge building. At the end of the day we tried to do little presentations for the rest of the group: Impossible to understand, the salsa band outside was just to loud. Closing all the windows: Impossible to see, impossible to breathe.

But that´s McKinsey: presentations in extreme situations..

Besides, the consultants were very nice, open and communicative. They were like evangelists for McKinsey, never hiding that they work inredibly much but for a very rewarding job. One even said, he wouldn´t do it for the money because compared to the time spend, it´s fairly poor..

I don´t know if I would want to work for them. Actually, if it´s not for the money, I can imagine
a) more rewarding things to do than calculating market shares
b) do all the work for myself.

I am proud to be one of the writers of Germany´s leading magazine on politics online “Politik Digital” now. They published an article about Podcasting (in German) as a tool for political campaiging. Very interesting subject and technology, read more about it at Wikipedia.

I did not have too much time to draw an appropriate picture of the millions of creative possibilities to promote movies on the internet, yet I found some nice examples and even scientific material who is giving more prove to the importance of word-of-mouth information flow for movies, especially on the internet and the possibilities to create strong ties to film fans with extra-services and direct communication. The presentation is in German and has been held at the Freie Universität, Berlin, FB Medienökonomie.

Saturday again will be Stylewalker-night! With a new sound system I am eager to guide some people through the night. Start will be around eleven, for some it will be the initial-warming up place for going to heavy-chique places later, for some, the evening will end at the Weinerei, too. .

..to senseless partying. Our support was glamourous, too: Yasmin and Maida from Mental Architexture visually enlightened the public. Ulysses and Pau from Barcelona supported the Swedish fashion designers with surrealistic images. People are relaxed and outgoing in Germany’s southwest. Definetely worth a visit!

Even the rain could not stop them and me and DJ San Gabriel collaborated well, holding Umbrellas and / or the operating turntable to balance the vibrations caused by the hysteric crowd.

The last big party hosted by Stylewalker, the “Goldschmiede” is a party to remember. Berlin, june 13th: More than 200 people danced like crazy in the Golden Gate Club until sunrise.

We had disco, we had video, we had gold, we were glamorous!

Now it is getting really hot here and everybody is sweaty all the time. People start living at 11 pm and so is the atmosphere. We hang out at beach parties, people dancing in the sand, chilling with cocktails, mediterranean waves playing with your feet.

All this is reflecting in my brand new summer tape “Verano en midi” – groovy, soulful house and electronic stuff, excellent for an evening on the terrace!

How To Do It

You can listen to each track with your default Mp3 – player (Winamp, Windows Media, Real, Quick Time). It should be starting automatically when you click on it.

You can download each track as MP3 by clicking on the right mouse button and picking “save file as”. It is in encoded in 64bps so it sounds okay but none of the tracks is bigger than 3 MB. Of course the session is a non – stop – mix.

When copying it on an audio – CD, in most recording programs you can set the pause between the tracks to 0 sec, so you can enjoy the mix without breaks but still use the trackmarks to skip to your favourite songs!
