It is not only frequented by many local DJs but also by electronic music celebrities from all around the world and of course many vinyl lovers who come to this place to find some of the rare black gold which is ever more pushed away by digital formats.

Now the time also has come for Nico and his crew to shift the strategy towards a broader product range to make use of the perfect location at Rosenthaler Platz. Rotation Records becomes Rotation Boutique: Vinyl will still be there, but there will be more: Music, fashion and art. Suzi Wong will be part of the part of the team from now on and take care of exhibitions, workshops and fashion brands like Airbag, Bpitch Control, Fairliebt., Ghostly, Hirschkind, Lumabag, Paula Terra, Human Empire, JR Sewing, Kantasou, Ken Panda, Keregan, Killertaschen, Respekt(l)abel, Rockwell feat. Parra, Team Brûlé or Thokk Thokk.

To celebrate this new step, this saturday, 26th of June, Rotation will reopen from 12am, at Weinbergsweg 3 with music by Tama Sumo (Berghain), Sven VT (Memo / Bpitch Control), Boris (Berghain), Hauke Freer (Session Victim / Retreat), Strobocop (Karaoke Kalk), Pick & Roll (for Heart & Soul). Too bad I can’t be there to spin some music, too! Click more to read their original message (in German)

Liebe Leute,

TAMA SUMO (Panoramabar)
SVEN VT (Memo / Bpitch Control)
BORIS (Panoramabar)
HAUKE FREER (Session Victim / Retreat)
STROBOCOP (Karaoke Kalk)
PICK & ROLL (for Heart & Soul)

Kunst von: FORN (Herbert Druschke & DAG Berlin)

Mode, Taschen & Accessiores von: Airbag, Bpitch Control, Fairliebt., Ghostly, Hirschkind, Lumabag, Paula Terra, Human Empire, JR Sewing, Kantasou, Ken Panda, Keregan, Killertaschen, Respekt(l)abel, Rockwell feat. Parra, Team Brûlé, Thokk Thokk, Tobias Blume Schmuck, Z.B. Berlin …

First, you can get an overview of all articles published on the DLD live blog here.

After three days of intense blogging, live blogging(!), there should be a little resumée. Must be a personal one, naturally, although I aim to grasp some of that spirit hopefully many people sensed in these days of Digital, Life, Design 09.

In the position of being confronted with so many ideas, witted people, diverse subjects, opinions, trends and conversations I felt intectually challenged almost all the time. Plus, trying to find my own “art of live blogging” I was in a constant state of concentration, in search of the essence of the panels I focused on to cover. Now I feel tired and inspired, with the “Black swan” beside my bed and “What would Google do” on my desk. And with many images still in mind that make it hard just to say “DLD was awesome!”. But it certainly was.

We had economics, design, psychology, neurobiology, architecture, technology, education, fashion, music.. DLD was so diverse and at the same time deep in concern of the arguments of the people and mostly entertaining by the performance. And this inspirationally broad deepness certainly had effects on the talks in the hallway which I personal did not have. Because I had to blog. Because I was honoured to blog!

My thanks go to the whole team, all those fast and motivated people who made this conference so smooth, so you would not notice the organization, just the flow. And especially to my blogger colleagues Nicole, Oliver and Andrea. We came up with some nice techniques to cover people’s talk with live writing which include Google Docs, hand signs, twitter search, mobile photo uploads and the help of people who plug the laptops, know about details, give comments.
So thank you all, team, speakers, participants and especially to the cute coffee machine in the team room.

Before I go and polish my posts and clean up all the typos, here are my personal Top9::

9. With the Zuckerberg appearance I found the controversial twitter conversation as interesting as what was said on stage.
Among offering premium brands like Acne they run their own labels like Cheap Monday which is much more affordable or the new brand Qoniak. I spent hours in their store on Götgatan in the cool neighborhood “Söder” which not only has a very clean and inviting interior with a big vintage area (something I personally like very much) but also a little tailoring desk. Actually, they don’t like people taking pictures in their store but after explaining what Stylewalker is like, they let me do it. Thanks! Enjoy pictures after the click.

Got it?

The cool thing is the blogme-Code: Copy the code to your blog or whatever social network profile, there’s even a Facebook application for it. And it get’s even easier: MySpace users e.g. just type in their login data and can post it to any section of their profile with a simple click. It’s guerilla because it looks all improvised and pop up because it only lasts for a certain time.

Diesel’s little brother brand 55DSL does that in Hamburg in a former milk bar and the opening last weekend worked pretty well. The police showed up five times, the street was packed with people who wanted to get in and the place was packed with people in white plastic bags who couldn’t get out. That, of course, was an art installation by New York artist Mike Bouchet.

It started in 2004 as an experiment by the Parisien Patrice Cassard who set up a system to upload designs, present them as shirts and let users vote the best styles.
Lafraise offers an affiliate program for people who promote the shirts.
I danced to Sebo K, Acid Maria, Shir Khan, Carsten Kleeman, Clé.. and the sound has majorly improved and now fills the old cinema with bombastic waves of bass and melody. Having lived in Sweden I can confirm that Swedes DO have a lot of style, whether it be skater, lady or lad. It was fantastic living in Linköping (not for the style only, please, of course for the calm and warmhearted people). I also had a punk band there, but that’s another story..

Today I want to recommend Hanna Fridén who runs a blog (and does graphics and works for the magazin Stureplan and so on..) with lots of nice stories and moreover great photos of Stockholm people, fashion and lifestyle. She has also has a very charming writing. Which you can only enjoy if you read Swedish. Ha! No, seriously, I know some people who come here and understand it – Svenskar, var är ni? Säg något, är ni snäll!

I always liked the edgy and provocative advertising ideas of Diesel (The current slogan e.g. is “Ready for global warming” -sic ).

This one’s not bad either, here’s the story: Two girls who want to be supermodels hijacked the diesel page, kidnapped a Diesel sales guy, stole the underwear collection and are now blackmailing Diesel to make them the two protagonist models of their next campaign. They also want to be Diesel renamed to “Heidies”..

Now, they communicate with their fans via the site, e.g. let them vote what should happen with the kidnapped guy. Despite the fact that he gets his legs waxed, his situation is not too uncomfortable really..

And it was sure no dissapointment: Party people, fashion people, international and arty people, lots of hats and style and funky moves and an atmosphere that made you feel that they loved to have their Cookies back. Not only I met old friends I hadn’t seen in a while, I heard many “Good to see YOU again!” all over. The bathrooms are gender-separated this time, the sound could be much better (invest, as soon as you’ve made some cash, Cookie!) there’s a lounge upstairs and a massive big floor that used to be a movie theatre with the typical candelabras and many bars to dance on. And so they did! Enjoy some fotos and a short .
