Cc:Room ist ein neues Blog, das ich mit und für die Agentur Circleculture entwickelt habe. Circleculture beschreibt sich als “Kreativagentur für Marken- und Kommunikationsberatung“, sie sitzen in der Gipsstraße und geben Kunden wie Nike, Schweppes, Closed und Beiersdorf den gewissen Touch Style und Underground.

Sie machen viel mit Kunst, Kultur und Design und immer wieder gibt es schöne Ausstellungen im Cc:Room, ihrer Galerie. So haben sie auch ihr Blog genannt, das in Zukunft als Präsentationsplattform für Projekte und Ausstellungen dienen soll und die Webseite Circleculture.com komplettiert. Lange hat es gedauert, aber nun genügt es den hohen Ansprüchen der Geschäftsführer.

Inzwischen sind sie eine feste Größe im Berliner Lifestyle, in die Clubs kommen sie umsonst, weil sie einfach jeden kennen. Wer in Berlin-Mitte Fuß fassen will und schnell Zugang zur kreativen Szene sucht, kommt an ihnen nicht vorbei, Schlagworte wie “Below-the-line-Maßnahmen” und “Spitze Zielgruppen” füllen sie mit Leben.
Ich habe ihnen ein kleines Wordpress-Blog angepasst, war stressig (die Jungs wollen eben viel und das schnell und günstig) aber hat Spaß gemacht, jetzt müssen sie nur noch anfangen zu bloggen. Viel Spaß und Erfolg, Johann, Staudi, Nici, Julia und alle anderen!

There’s no better work situation than sitting in the sun in a café with internet access..

Tuesday, 11 o´clock, Café Napoljonska, Kastanienallee, Berlin. They have the best cakes, cookies and ice cream.

I like to sit there and work and watch the people pass by and drink coffee and read the newspapers. Sounds like leisure but actually I had some of my most productive hours there..

Das war eine schöne Feier am Wochenende, erst noch ein bisschen stressig mit Vollgas und einer Discokugel (Danke Stone!) auf dem Schoß über die Frankfurter Allee, eine Neonröhre pink ansprühen und einen Diaprojektor ausrichten, aber dann war die Deko fertig! Leider habe ich keine Fotos gemacht, war einfach zu viel zu tun und zu minglen und zu socialisen. Im Nachhinein freue ich mich über jeden Einzelnen, der den weiten Weg auf sich genommen hat und gekommen ist, war doch ganz schön weit draußen.. Die Stimmung war gut, der Sound auch, die Bar voll und die Nacht sternenklar. Danke an alle!

Eine schöne Ausstellung im CC Room: JR aus Paris stellt sein “Street Journal” vor. Viele, tagebuchartige Fotos, kurz geschnittene Filme. Toll auf die Wände geklebt und mit verschiedenen Größen kombiniert. Draußen Streetart auf Laternen und Asphalt. Mich hat das Tagebuchartige, Vergängliche, Sammelmäßige und vermeintlich Wahllose beeindruckt und besonders schön fand ich seine Art, Menschen zu fotografieren, er hat sie immer in speziellen Situationen und Gesichtsausdrücken erwischt.
Kunst finde ich besonders ästhetisch und beeindruckend, wenn sie aus verschiedenen Abständer funktioniert. Ganz nah dran sieht man das Detail auf dem Foto, ein Gesicht oder einen Fassade und von weiter weg sind es bunte und monochrome Haufen, die ineinander übergehen, in der Mitte je ein großes Bild auf Leinwand, auf denen Tauben fliegen und zu landen scheinen. So verbindet sich Paris mit Barcelona.

Last weekend was Popkomm weekend in Berlin and we had all sorts of nice bands and concerts around. Benny Sings played at the Apollo Soul festival, presented by Sonar Kollektiv.
When I was 19, I played in two bands with their drummer Tim Dudek and I am really proud that he has become such a succesful musician. As well he is with the band “Outernationals”.

Benny Sings is something in between Jamiroquai and D’Angelo, I enjoyed a soulful concert that put the audience in a dancing mood. I love Benny Sings and now I am the proud owner of a 12″ signed by all members (except the keyboarder Andy, where were you?!).

Before I went to Barcelona in 2002 I had a really good DJ job in Berlin. Once a month I played at the R’nB party “Bootylicious” in the gay club Schwuz. It was perfect because I love R’nB’ but I never really liked the scene in Berlin that can usually be found in R’nB and Hiphop clubs. Continue >>

Yesterday I went to see my friends from Intro magazine (I worked there once, if you google my name you’ll still find some cd critics and tetxs, mostly about hiphop – DJ Premier i.e.) who organized the Introducing festival for Popkomm

I saw great concerts, Editors, Koufax and I was so happy when I saw Supergrass. If I still had a band I would play this kind of music. Friendly, funky, relaxed and soulful. And skillfull!

They played the hole concert sitting and created a really personal atmosphere full of energy.

Berlin is a hard city. The most famous clubs are Tresor, WMF and Berghain, all famous for their dark, excessive atmosphere. The industrial environment, the wars and totalitarian regimes in the past did their best to make Berlin a real hard party place. Techno and techhouse is the sound and a lot of people are bored of the monotone music they are exposed to every weekend.
